Linden Christian School hosted their Annual Fundraising Banquet on Saturday, April 28. Guests celebrated 30 years of God’s faithfulness to the school through timelines, reflections, guest speakers and musical numbers. Founding Principal of LCS Phyllis Cook shared her vision for the school and honoured the early years of LCS and it’s beginnings with 3 teachers, 33 students and courageous parents in 1987. She highlighted God’s unwavering faithfulness throughout the years of growth, change and expansion. Linden Christian School currently has over 950 students and is once again expanding, this time to meet student demand for science classes through our Investing in Science Capital Campaign.
The banquet was catered by Bergmann’s on Lombard and served by students from the Class of 2018. Sydni Reimer (Class of 2017) brought an alumnus reflection and the Call to Give. Annie Hollander (Class of 2017) and her sister Magnolia blessed guests with musical numbers. Our Senior Jazz Band provided entertainment and Senior Years English teacher Mr. Matt Janzen was our Emcee for the evening.
Funds raised will be designated to the Bursary Fund, Newcomers Bursary Fund and the new science lab. Donations continue to be gratefully accepted at the Main School Office.
Special thanks for our speakers, musicians, GMBC Senior Pastor John Schaffner, Bergmann’s on Lombard, property and technical crews (Jared Esser and James Doerksen), accompanist Carolyn Lysack, SY band teacher Bobbie Fast, graphic designer Barry Hammond – Flamingo Design, the LCS School Board and the Banquet committee.
