Support Linden Christian School
Invest in Christian Education
Linden Christian School (LCS) is an independent school that is committed to excellence and is passionate about our mission to provide a Christ-centred education that equips students to love and serve God.
Linden Christian School needs your financial support in many areas. The Bursary Fund provides financial support to families that value a Christian education but couldn’t otherwise afford it; the Newcomer Bursary Fund helps families that are new to Canada send their children to Linden; the General Fund supports teacher and professional development, the acquisition of classroom equipment, athletics, music programs and special projects.
Funds raised by the Capital Campaign support upgrades and additions to the school building. Thanks to the generosity of donors, we were able to build a beautiful, state-of-the-art addition to the LCS campus that provided much needed classroom space, an art room, a choir room, and a band room.
The Transitional Classroom (TLC) was established in 2010 after LCS became aware that many refugee and immigrant children were struggling with adjustment to the Canadian classroom. Their families wanted a safe place where their children could learn English, adjust to Canadian culture and social expectations, and prepare themselves for integration into regular classrooms.
Each Spring, Linden Christian School hosts an annual Fundraising Banquet in support of the Bursary Fund and special projects.
The Gift Card and Shop and Share programs offer opportunities for people to give in ways that are meaningful for them. Collectively, our fundraising programs help Linden Christian School provide a school environment that focuses on building tomorrow’s Christian leaders. The success of these programs is dependent on your participation.
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (Colossians 3:17).

Through the ongoing support of people like you, Linden Christian School continues to enjoy the new northeast addition that includes a new entrance, new classrooms, and state-of-the-art band, choir and art rooms. Chapels and concerts are being held in our newly renovated auditorium and the completion of the south hall has added a welcoming gathering space for everyone to enjoy. Reducing our project-related debt is an ongoing priority. Thank you for your support of Christian education at Linden Christian School. Your gift is making a difference.
Dateline: October, 2011. Celebrating 28,000 square feet of new space – GMBC Board Chair Mel Zacharias, GMBC Senior Pastor Tom Castor, LCS Principal and CEO Robert Charach, LCS Board Chair Dr. Robin Hutchinson; Grade 8 students Libby Giesbrecht and Brennan Siemens.
The Bursary Fund ensures that Linden Christian School is able to continue to provide a Christ-centred education that equips students to love and serve God. Supporting the Bursary Fund is an important way to ensure that the children of all families that value a Christ-centred education will receive a well-rounded, biblically-inspired experience at Linden Christian School, regardless of means.
In the 2014/2015 school year, 51 students were supported by the Bursary Fund.
Linden Christian School’s Annual Fundraiser Banquet is held each spring to support our Bursary Fund and other worthwhile projects. Please consider joining us as we gather together to celebrate all that is happening at Linden Christian School.
To give towards the Bursary Fund and special projects:
The Newcomer Bursary Fund assists new Canadians, immigrants, and refugee families that are establishing themselves in Canada. This fund helps families that are choosing a Christian education for their children to have a rich and rewarding experience at Linden Christian School.
There are 16 students are being funded by the Newcomer Bursary Fund for the 2014-2015 school year.
The Linden Christian School Transitional Learning Classroom (TLC) is located at 598 Ellice Avenue. The students that attend the TLC program are Newcomers to Canada. Many of the students are from Burma and represent the Karen and the Chin people groups.
Prior to opening the Transitional Learning Classroom in 2010, LCS staff had the opportunity to talk with many newcomers to Canada and one father voiced a concern that they could not ignore – his child was struggling with adjusting to Canadian culture. This parent brought up a legitimate concern and for this reason, the LCS Transitional Learning Classroom became a reality.
The Transitional Learning Classroom relies on financial support from grants and private donors that share our mission, vision and values. Without this vital financial support, this classroom would not be able to operate. The funds are used to provide a Christ-centered education to students in Kindergarten through grade 5. This vital classroom provides a safe and caring learning environment where students can learn English, adjust to Canadian culture and social expectations, while operating within the Manitoban curriculum.
Gift Card Program
Linden Christian School is pleased to participate in the Gift Card Program. This fundraising initiative allows the school to purchase gift cards from select retailers at a discounted rate. The discount represents the fundraising benefit returned to the school by the retailer.
Through the program, you can support the school by purchasing gift cards for the businesses you frequent. Gift cards are available from a large number of retailers for a variety of items including food, clothing, entertainment, furniture, building supplies, auto repair, gasoline, dining out, and so much more. Participating businesses include: Superstore, Sobeys, Safeway, Home Depot, The Keg, The Gap, and Starbucks.
The Gift Card Program operates throughout the school year and this year commissions from all sales will primarily be directed towards the acquisition of classroom notebooks. Families with students in grades 7 – 12 Performing Arts Programs will have commissions from Sobeys’ sales in October and December credited to their child(ren)’s music trip accounts. To sign into the online program visit Gift Card Program. Questions relating to the program may be directed to email@example.com.
Linden Christian School is pleased to participate in the Red River Co-Op Initiative as a way to support our school fundraising endeavors. You will be financially supporting the school each time you use Linden Christian School’s Co-op member number when making grocery or fuel purchases at the Red River Co-op. Families have the opportunity to use the LCS Red River Co-op member number throughout the year and collectively raise funds for the school. Use of this program allows families to know that their purchases are joining other Linden Christian School families in fundraising efforts.
