Compassionate Community Building at Day of Service

Published on: October 19, 2015

Each year at Linden Christian School, our grade 11 and 12 students participate in a Day of Service. Our students give a day of labour and general helpfulness to various charities, campuses and organizations around the city. This year they worked at Union Gospel Mission, UGM Family Life, the Crisis Pregnancy Centre, Hands of Hope, Calvary Place, the Habitat Restore, the Transitional Learning Classroom, St. Aiden’s School, Winnipeg Harvest, and the UGM Warehouse and Charis Centre. Students cleaned, organized, raked, connected with children, laboured in warehouses and helped out wherever they could.

This important annual event helps to reinforce to our students the importance of serving in our local community and nurtures our value of building compassionate community members. Many thanks to our students and the staff members who gave of their time to make this day run smoothly.
