Celebrating Character and Excellence: 2026 Athletics Awards BrunchOn Saturday, June 13, Linden Christian School student-athletes, coaches, and families gathered for our annual Athletics Awards Brunch. It was a wonderful morning of fellowship and celebration, honoring the dedication, talent, and sportsmanship of our JV and Varsity athletes across volleyball, basketball, curling, hockey, soccer, ultimate, and badminton.
Thank you to our Athletics Director, Manfred Glor, and to our many fabulous coaches—many of whom are dedicated LCS parents and alumni! We are incredibly grateful for the countless hours they invest in our students and our sports program.
The Heart of LCS Athletics: Our Core Awards
While skill on the court or field is celebrated, LCS athletics focuses heavily on leadership, growth, and faith. Coaches proudly presented awards in three major categories this year:
- The Christian Character Award This is the most important award given out at Linden Christian. It honors the athlete who best exemplifies Christ-like character on and off the court. They may not be the top scorer, but through every circumstance, they remain positive, lift up their teammates, and show everyone who watches them play that there is something uniquely different about how they compete.
- The Most Outstanding Player (MOP) Award Chosen by the coaching staff, this award recognizes individuals who demonstrated exceptional skill, leadership, and athletic dominance throughout their season.
- The Coach’s Award This award recognizes the unsung heroes of our teams—the players who play an integral, self-sacrificing role in the team’s success that might otherwise go unnoticed by spectators.
Announcing our 2025-2026 Athletes of the Year
The grand finale of the brunch was the presentation of the coveted Athlete of the Year awards, recognizing individuals who made massive contributions across multiple sports programs.
JV Girls Athletes of the Year: Addi M. & Annie W.
This year, the JV Girls award was presented to two incredibly deserving individuals. Both Addi and Annie played pivotal roles on multiple teams this year, even stepping up to play at the Varsity level while only in Grade 10!
JV Boys Athlete of the Year: Jack Springer
Jack was a true multi-sport powerhouse this year, competing on the JV Boys volleyball, hockey, ultimate, soccer, and track teams. He is the ultimate team player, always willing to go the extra mile to help his teams succeed.
Varsity Girls Athlete of the Year: Annika T.
Annika has impacted LCS athletics significantly over her four years! This year alone, she competed in volleyball, curling, basketball, ultimate, and soccer. Always willing to help in any way, Annika also gave back to the program by stepping into a coaching role.
Varsity Boys Athlete of the Year: Nolin G.
Nolin was a dominant force and a leader on every team he joined this year. He served as a leader on the volleyball team, an important contributor on the basketball court, and a stalwart defender on the soccer pitch. Despite his busy schedule, Nolin also found time to give back by coaching one of our Grade 7/8 teams.
Congratulations to all of our award recipients and athletes for a phenomenal year of LCS sports!
