Linden Christian School hosted their Annual Fundraising Banquet on April 29, 2017. This year’s theme Investing in the Future featured alumni performances and reflections, a delicious meal catered by Bergmann’s on Lombard, visioning for our new science lab, a parent reflection and inspiring words from Senior Pastor John Schaffner of Grant Memorial Church.
Reflections from LCS graduates Ness Siemens and Mark MacKinnon ecouraged guests, reinforcing God’s faithfulness and the blessing of a caring Christian community. An alumni jazz band, directed by Mr. Mitchell Wiebe entertained guests and alumni duet (Kira Fondse and Nikita Silagy) performed. Mr. Bruce Bartel (Science Department Head) highlighted the vision for our new science lab. This exciting project will benefit present and future students of Linden Christian School. Many of our graduates are opting to study in the fields of science and technology and enhanced science facilities will equip our students to discover and explore while developing a greater understanding of God’s creation.
Funds raised will be directed towards our Bursary Fund (making Christian education accessible) and the new science lab. The response to this year’s banquet has been very encouraging and Linden Christian School is thankful for the generosity of our community! Donations continue to be gratefully accepted at the Main School Office.
Many thanks to our MC for the evening Mr. Matt Janzen, Dave Guenther for his parent reflection and call to give, participating staff and volunteer parents, Myrna Grahn for leading set-up, the many alumni guests who supported the event, David Bergmann (alumni parent and renowned chef) of Bergmann’s on Lombard, our Class of 2017 servers, our photographer, Senior Pastor John Schaffner, the Banquet Committee, the School Board, property, and our tech crew.
