Grade 9 Student’s If Day Video Collecting Votes for Young Citizen’s Award

Published on: June 16, 2015

Grade 9 student Amber P. recently created a historical video as an extension of her Heritage Fair Project on If Day. She is competing in the Young Citizen’s Program for a chance to win a jammed-packed trip to Ottawa to meet the Governor General and visit our nation’s historical sites. An average of 165 students across Canada participate in this program through submission of a video that supplements their Heritage Fair Projects.

Amber’s Project on If Day researched the fake war and the involvement of Winnipeg citizens in the war effort. It was awarded at the Red River Heritage Fair with the ManACE Technology Award for excellent use of technology in a project. Please follow the link to view Amber’s video and vote for her. Voting is now open and will remain open until July 5, 2015. Family, friends and supporters can vote on Amber’s Profile page by clicking on the Vote button. Each individual can vote once per video and each vote helps Amber take a step closer to a trip to Ottawa!
