Luke J. Honoured with Ron Meyers Leadership Award

Congratulations to Luke J. for his recent recognition by Basketball Manitoba. He was the recipient of the Ron Meyers Leadership Award – an honour given to a Grade 12 basketball player who excels in the community, on the court, and in the classroom.

Luke maintains a strong academic average and is involved in leadership roles at Linden Christian School. He was captain of the Wings Varsity Basketball Team in 2020 and is currently leading as Student Council Co-President. Luke is responsible for leading the student council to plan school activities, fundraisers and spirit weeks in this role. Luke has also served at Red Rock Bible Camp and currently volunteers at Siloam Mission sorting clothes and preparing breakfast. Luke is also a lifeguard and enjoys providing a safe environment for swimming activities.

Luke has always been a valued and integral part of the Wings Basketball Team at Linden Christian School. Athletics Director Manfred Glor comments that Luke guided the team to many victories, helped keep the team focused, and was always early to practices and games. Luke was also willing to be the first to demonstrate any drills learned in training.
