Communication to Families

Linden Christian School has been keeping school families informed regarding school and government responses to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

What We are Doing At Linden

Today, perhaps more than ever, we remain steadfast in our mission to provide a Christ-centered education that equips students to love and serve God. Our commitment to excellence in providing Kindergarten to Grade 12 education remains–it will just be delivered differently. To help ensure academic continuity for our students we are using an online approach to education to reinforce routine and stability for students. Our exceptional teaching staff have prepared and adapted their instruction to an online environment. We not only appreciate the teachers, but also the various support and IT staff that have invested countless hours to facilitate this transition.

Premier Brian Pallister and the Minister of Education Kelvin Goertzen announced on March 31 that classroom learning has been suspended indefinitely for this school year. The Province’s expectation is that K-12 students are to be actively engaged in remote learning.

Linden Christian School continues with its commitment to maintain excellence in programming. Manitoba Education has provided several guiding principles and learning expectations. Linden Christian has embraced them with our mission, vision and core values in mind. Beyond delivering daily instructional materials and preparing for assessments, our teachers will have regular, personal communication with students, caregivers, and other partners in support of student achievement. No student will be held back due to the pandemic. Teachers will facilitate at-home learning to support students with online platforms or printed materials. Students on track to graduate will graduate. Students will engage in recovery learning as needed. All students will receive final grades and a report card in June. Reporting of final grades will follow Manitoba Provincial Report Card Policy and Guidelines. Report cards will also indicate whether the student will require recovery learning.
