Operation Christmas Child Celebration Chapel

Published on: November 21, 2016

Linden Christian School hosted their annual Operation Christmas Child Celebration Chapel on Monday, November 21. Thousands of giftboxes were transported via a human chain by our Kindergarten to Grade 8 students. Mrs. Lori Bettig, Principal Charach and students had the honour of praying a dedication over the boxes before they were transported out of the Auditorium.

Students watched video footage of families who have been touched by the generosity and compassion of the Samaritan’s Purse initiative. Operation Christmas Child encourages donors to Pack a Box and Change a Life. Sharing God’s love with children in difficult living conditions worldwide, through packing gift-filled shoebox is an excellent way for our students to act out their call to be compassionate community members!

Our K-grade 8 classes donated 506 boxes and with the Grant Memorial Baptist Church depot, we collectively moved 5,024 boxes out of our Auditorium and into the moving truck. Thank you to all of our teachers, parents, and staff who made this special initiative a wonderful outreach event as well as a tactile learning opportunity.
