Spirit Week Recap – Grade 5-8 Students Build CommunityThe Grade 5-8 hallways at LCS were transformed into a kaleidoscope of characters, friendships, and school spirit during the week of March 17-21, 2025.
Clusters of students in matching outfits roamed the halls for “Multiples Day”, showcasing strong friendships within the school.
Next came Trade Day, a delightful reversal of roles. It was a day filled with laughter as students dressed up as teachers and teachers dressed as students.
Grade Colour Day is a tradition at LCS. Students represent their grade by wearing their official grade colour: Grade 5 – green, Grade 6 – blue, Grade 7 – red and Grade 8 – black. It was great to see so many students dress up and display school spirit.
Sports Day brought out the athletes and the fans. Jerseys of all shapes, sizes, and sports filled the hallways, showcasing the diverse interests of the student body.
Character Day supported our “I Love to Read Month” initiative where all students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 were encouraged to dress up as their favourite story book character. Superheroes mingled with historical figures, cartoon characters and book protagonists. Our students’ creativity and imagination was on full display.
Throughout the week, our teachers joined in with equal enthusiasm.
School spirit soared. It wasn’t just about the costumes; it was about the strengthened friendships and the feeling of belonging that permeated the halls. It was a week where everyone, students and teachers alike, cultivated community at LCS.
