Students ran, walked and participated in basketball challenges in 17 different cohort groups for our Terry Fox initiative this year. They completed timed runs, enjoyed a free-throw event (fastest cohort to make 40 points) and took part in an in-class Kahoot activity.
We collected loonies and toonies to help with cancer research. Some community members took up the “What’s Your 40?” challenge to commemorate the 40th year of the Terry Fox Run. This year our K-12 students raised $1528.10 to help in the fight against cancer.
Donations can still be made to the Terry Fox Foundation here. Thank you to Mr. Josh Dalzell and Mrs. Carri McDonald for taking the lead on this important fundraising initiative. It is encouraging to see our students engaged with our school vision statement which values students growing to be compassionate community members.
