25 Years of Faith-Filled Leadership: Mr. Charach Honoured at Retirement ChapelOn Thursday, May 29, our LCS community came together to celebrate and honour our Head of School, Robert Charach, for his remarkable 25 years of leadership. Students, staff, faculty, parents, alumni, and former staff gathered in the Sanctuary for a heartfelt Retirement Chapel that reflected the deep impact Mr. Charach has had on our school.
Mr. Charach shared a moving message about time, thankfulness, and trusting God in each season of life — a fitting reflection as he steps into retirement and we look to the future with faith. We worshipped together, heard prayers and tributes from Leigh-Ann DeGagne and Andrew Micklefield (Executive Director of the Manitoba Federation of Independent Schools), and were treated to a beautiful performance of Sunrise, Sunset by our Senior Years choir.
One of the highlights was a presentation from Mrs. Teresa Gibbon’s Grade 5 class, who creatively shared the many ways Mr. Charach has led and blessed our community — from managing the drive-thru and leading tug-of-war competitions, to his memorable Charlie Brown/Linus appearances at Christmas Chapels, sharing hockey cards, and consistently guiding students with wisdom and joy .Their words celebrated not only his leadership, but his heart for students and his commitment to nurturing faith-filled, thoughtful, and discerning young people.
The Chapel closed with a joyful surprise — a Star Wars lightsaber salute, complete with a personal lightsaber gifted to Mr. Charach, a nod to his legendary Star Wars-themed chapels over the years.
Following the service, guests gathered for fellowship and refreshments, taking time to personally thank Mr. Charach for his years of faithful service.
It was a morning full of gratitude, celebration, and God’s presence — a beautiful send-off for a deeply loved leader.
