Established in 1987, Linden Christian School is a thriving Kindergarten to Grade 12 independent school of 1000 students and over 130 staff with emphasis on a Christian worldview education, delivering the Manitoba provincial curriculum, excellence in academics, performing arts, sports, and education built on relationships.

Job Summary

The Head of School/Chief Executive Officer (HOS/CEO) provides overall direction for the educational and business functions of Linden Christian School (LCS). The HOS/CEO operates in accordance with the policies established by the LCS Board, provincial legislation, and Manitoba Education directives.  The HOS/CEO is ultimately responsible to nurture the development of a distinctively Christian school culture where the Mission, Vision and Core Values of LCS are understood and implemented in a caring, Christ-like manner. 

Education – The HOS/CEO is responsible for the overall direction and coordination of all matters pertaining to the educational programs and services of LCS. 

Administration – The HOS/CEO is responsible for the overall operation and sustainability of the school. This encompasses the oversight of budgeting, finance, human resources, and advancement programs such as marketing, fundraising, and alumni relations.

The HOS/CEO builds and maintains effective communication and relationships – internally with staff and students and externally with the community at large including parents, the LCS Board, Grant Memorial Baptist Church, other independent schools, associations, external professionals, the neighboring business community, and governing authorities.

Skills and Qualifications

  •  Bachelor of Education Degree from a recognized university or college. 
  •  Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline preferred. 
  •  Eligible to hold a teaching certificate in the Province of Manitoba. 
  •  Minimum of 10 years educational leadership experience in a public or independent Christian school, including a minimum of five years experience in Administration. 
  •  Highly developed relational, communication, human resource and business management skills. 
  •  Strong oral and written communication skills. 
  •  Excellent organizational skills.
  •  Proven experience and abilities in fundraising and donor development.
  •  Eligible to work in Canada.

LCS Statement of Faith

Linden Christian School (LCS) invites applications for the position of Before and After School Care (BASC) worker.

The anticipated start date is September 2, 2025. This is a casual position available during the school year. Anticipated hours of work are between 7:30-08:30 am and/or 3:30-5:30 pm Monday to Friday.

This position will suit an individual who enjoys working with children and serving others, team player, detail oriented, accurate and able to follow up, likes to plan ahead but can adapt to last minute changes, has a positive attitude, and wants to learn and grow in an environment where serving God together is rewarding and meaningful.

LCS Statement of Faith

Job Summary:

The Maintenance position will include general maintenance functions for both Grant Memorial Church and Linden Christian School.  The knowledge of WHIS and the ability to operate commercial tools and equipment is required.  The position requires good communication skills and the ability to work independently and on a team.  The Maintenance person will report to the Property Manager.

Time Requirements:

This position is full-time with a 40-hour/week Monday-Friday schedule with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities:

Building Maintenance:

  • Open building as required
  • Repairs/renovations
  • Yard/Flower Bed/Lot Up-keep
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including painting, basic plumbing and carpentry.
  • Respond to work order requests, ensuring prompt attention to minor repairs such as fixing leaky faucets, changing light bulbs, and unclogging drains.
  • Inspect and maintain common areas, ensuring they are clean, safe, and well-functioning (e.g., foyers, hallways, parking lots).
  • Monitor heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and address minor issues.
  • Operate a skid steer for snow clearing of parking lots and roadways

Requirements:

  • Willing to drive a skid steer for winter snow clearing; on-the-job training is available
  • Physically fit and able to lift to 50-70 lbs.
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to be a team player and work independently
  • Prompt and dependable

Grant Memorial Church Statement of Faith

Job Summary:

Reporting to the CEO/Property Manager (PM) of LMI, the candidate will have strong organization and interpersonal skills. The candidate will be responsible to assist with the administrative duties of the CEO/PM of LMI as related to the operations of the organization. It is important to note that the CEO/PM is currently on extended medical leave for an uncertain period and in this interim period the duties of that role are being covered by a combination of an interim, part time PM, direct input from members of the board executive and an extra level of responsibility imposed upon this administrative position.

Time Requirements:

This position is currently .60 EFT or 24 hours per week. General office hours are 8:00 to 4:30 Tuesday to Thursday. Additional hours may be required periodically to meet the requirements of the position.

Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping
    • Invoice collection, filing and coding for payment
    • Distribution of accountant prepared reports and requests
    • Budget preparation assistance
    • Collection of various fees and payments
  • Lease Administration
    • Database and hard file management
    • Preparation and oversight of lease assignment documents
    • Liaison with realtors, lawyers and prospective tenants
    • Maintenance, updating and distribution of sample documentation
    • Parking space assignments
    • Preparation and delivery of annual documents and notices to tenants
    • Receive, evaluate, approve and monitor Suite Alteration Requests
    • Manage Annual Certificates of Insurance and insurance requirements for trades and tenants
  • Managing tenant concerns and communications
    • Receive and respond to or allocate property, maintenance and information concerns
    • Assist with and attend various tenant meetings and events
    • Build relationship with tenants and receive and forward prayer needs as appropriate

  • A self-motivator able to plan and organize independently
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Excellent computer skills, familiar with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google sheets
  • Basic bookkeeping skills
  • Prior experience in real estate and property management would be an asset
  • Ability to problem-solve effectively and meet deadlines
  • A good listener, organized, honest, enthusiastic and able to maintain confidentialities
  • Willingness to occasionally work irregular hours
  • Dress appropriate for the position – business casual
  • This position is available as soon as June 15, 2025 to allow for transition from the existing staff person by June 30. This timeframe could be delayed if necessary.
