Established in 1987, Linden Christian School is a thriving Kindergarten to Grade 12 independent school of 1000 students and over 130 staff with emphasis on a Christian worldview education, delivering the Manitoba provincial curriculum, excellence in academics, performing arts, sports, and education built on relationships.

Job Summary

The Head of School/Chief Executive Officer (HOS/CEO) provides overall direction for the educational and business functions of Linden Christian School (LCS). The HOS/CEO operates in accordance with the policies established by the LCS Board, provincial legislation, and Manitoba Education directives.  The HOS/CEO is ultimately responsible to nurture the development of a distinctively Christian school culture where the Mission, Vision and Core Values of LCS are understood and implemented in a caring, Christ-like manner. 

Education – The HOS/CEO is responsible for the overall direction and coordination of all matters pertaining to the educational programs and services of LCS. 

Administration – The HOS/CEO is responsible for the overall operation and sustainability of the school. This encompasses the oversight of budgeting, finance, human resources, and advancement programs such as marketing, fundraising, and alumni relations.

The HOS/CEO builds and maintains effective communication and relationships – internally with staff and students and externally with the community at large including parents, the LCS Board, Grant Memorial Baptist Church, other independent schools, associations, external professionals, the neighboring business community, and governing authorities.

Skills and Qualifications

  •  Bachelor of Education Degree from a recognized university or college. 
  •  Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline preferred. 
  •  Eligible to hold a teaching certificate in the Province of Manitoba. 
  •  Minimum of 10 years educational leadership experience in a public or independent Christian school, including a minimum of five years experience in Administration. 
  •  Highly developed relational, communication, human resource and business management skills. 
  •  Strong oral and written communication skills. 
  •  Excellent organizational skills.
  •  Proven experience and abilities in fundraising and donor development.
  •  Eligible to work in Canada.

● Hold a valid MB Teaching Certificate;
● Present a fully processed Criminal Record Check from the Winnipeg Police Services or RCMP which affirms that the Vulnerable Sector Screening is clear;
● Child Abuse Registry Check is also required;

Linden Christian School (LCS) invites applications for the position of Senior Library Technician. 

This is a 45-week full-time position with 37.5 working hours per week from late August to early July. 

The Librarian is responsible for all library services, planning, development, operations including the school’s online subscriptions, electronic and physical textbooks, and physical collections at the school. Previous experience with research related skills, library management, Excel, Google Workspace, and staff/department supervision would be required. 

This position will suit an individual who enjoys working with students from elementary to senior grades  and serving others. The Librarian will be a team player, detail oriented, accurate and able to follow up, likes to plan ahead but can adapt to last minute changes, will have a positive attitude, and wants to learn and grow in an environment where serving God together is rewarding and meaningful. Experience with budgets, purchasing, and general supervision is required.

These are casual positions available during the school year. Anticipated hours of work are between 7:30-8:30 a.m. and/or 3:30-5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. 

These positions will suit individuals who enjoys working with children and serving others, team players, detail oriented, accurate and able to follow up, likes to plan ahead but can adapt to last minute changes, have a positive attitude, and wants to learn and grow in an environment where serving God together is rewarding and meaningful.

Job Summary:

The Set-Up/Custodial position will assist with set-ups and provide custodial cleaning tasks for Grant Church.  This position may require evening and weekend working hours.  The position requires good communication skills and the ability to work independently and in a team. 

 Time Requirements:

This position is casual and could include days, evenings or weekends.  Flexible hours of work during the week may be required to cover evening and weekend events.

 Responsibilities:

  • Event set-up, take down and problem resolution
  • Opening and closing of the building
  • Custodial tasks, such as vacuum, damp/dry mop, garbage, dusting, etc.
  • Provide custodial cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, dust mopping, wet mopping, spot cleaning, trash collection and removal, glass cleaning and restroom cleaning.
  • Property maintenance – Including but not limited to general yard care, grass cutting/care and painting.
  • Provide immediate response for urgent clean up and service requests.
  • Upkeep of entrance ways due to seasonal or weather-related conditions.
  • Alert to potential slip hazards and act proactively to eliminate risk.
  • Removal of snow from immediate areas of entry and external walkways.
  • Maintain custodial equipment 

Requirements:

  • Physically fit and able to lift 50-70 lbs.
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to be a team player and work independently
  • Prompt and dependable
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, MSDS, WHMIS and Workplace Safety
