Financial Assistance

  • Linden Christian School awards a number of bursaries each year based on financial need.
  • The Phyllis Cook Memorial Award is a tuition support award that was introduced in 2024 in Senior Years. This tuition credit is valued at $1500 per year and is open to all current LCS students going into Grades 9 in the fall of 2025.
  • More information on bursaries and the Phyllis Cook Memorial Award can be found below.

The Bursary Fund

Student bursary assistance is awarded yearly based on financial need and the amount of funds available in the Bursary Fund. The goal of the bursary program is to offer partial support of tuition payments for families with demonstrated financial need.  Generally, bursary support ranges from 25-50% of tuition.  Bursaries are awarded annually, so families need to reapply each year.

Bursary applications can be requested from the Admissions Office after student(s) have been accepted and enroled at LCS.  Our application procedure includes a standardized form and financial need evaluation to consider applications consistently.  There is also consideration for unique circumstances, such as illness or job loss.

Bursary applications are reviewed annually by the Bursary Committee in May and June.  Applicants are emailed in June as to the committee’s decision. All applications and inquiries are strictly confidential.

To be eligible for financial assistance, you must be filing a Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) tax return. If you are applying for a bursary, it is recommended that you submit your CRA tax return as early as you can to avoid delays in receiving your Notice of Assessment.  Please note that EAL fees are not eligible for the bursary program.

For the 2025-2026 school year, bursary applications are due on May 2, 2025.

If you have questions about financial assistance available, or if you would like to request an application, please contact Carolyn Johnson in the Admissions Office at 204-989-6739 or by email [email protected].

The Phyllis Cook Memorial Award

In memory of Linden’s founding Principal, Mrs. Phyllis Cook, a Senior Years tuition support award is available to enrolled students. The award is designed to offset the recipient’s tuition fees through high school at LCS. The selection will be based on the student’s desire for a Christian high school education.

The Phyllis Cook Memorial Award is open to all Grade 8 LCS students preparing to enrol for Grade 9.   The award is an annual $1500 tuition credit for each year of high school at LCS (approximately 20% of SY tuition fees). The award is renewable through each year of high school, but subject to annual review.

Grade 8’s will be invited to apply in January 2025 and applications will be due by February 13.  Please contact Mrs. Kathy Berard in the Admissions Office at [email protected] if you have questions.
