School volunteers must complete a Child Abuse Registry Check and a Criminal Records Check every three years and be approved by administration. Volunteers must also participate in safety training. Here are just a few of the opportunities for service:
Parent Class Representatives/Classroom Volunteers
These volunteers arrange a hot lunch once per month, and coordinate with the teacher for any special parties. We also love having classroom volunteers, especially in Kindergarten to Grade 4.
Staff Appreciation Days
Each year, a number of parent volunteers organize three days of teacher appreciation. Each day includes a different way to thank our teachers and staff for their dedicated and hard work. Whether you provide food, a contribution or come in to serve, the Staff Appreciation Committee is always looking for volunteers.
Athletics
We are always looking for volunteers for coaching – volleyball and basketball in particular. Contact Manfred Glor, our Athletics Director, at [email protected] if you would like to support the school in a coaching role.
Performing Arts
The Performing Arts Parents Association (PAPA) looks for volunteers to coordinate fundraising, support the Jazz Café and assist with our uniform exchange. PAPA volunteers will organize fundraising opportunities, distribute products, and tabulate orders. Contact Kim Neufeld, our Performing Arts Director, by emailing [email protected] for more information.
Library
The library relies on volunteers to help with book fairs and processing books so that they are ready to go on the shelves. While serving in the library, our volunteers enjoying connecting and building new friendships.
