Bridging Generations with Love: 4H Partners with Alumna for Valentine’s Outreach

This February, students in Mrs. Hofer’s Grade 4 class discovered that you don’t need to personally know someone to show them the love of Christ. They spent time creating 148 handcrafted Valentine’s letters and animal themed artwork – one for every resident at Linden Pointe Retirement Community.

The project had a special connection to LCS, as the students partnered with alumnus Brooke Hutchison ’18, who serves as the Community Engagement Manager at Linden Pointe. Seeing a former student lead the way in serving the elderly provided a beautiful example for the Grade 4s of how a life of service continues long after graduation.

By reaching out to neighbors they haven’t met, the students practiced intentional kindness and learned that a simple piece of art and heartfelt message can be used to show God’s love. Thank you to 4H for ensuring that every resident at Linden Pointe feels cherished this Valentine’s Day.
