Hearts for Guatemala: Continuing a 15 Year Legacy of ServiceOn January 31, a team of 22 students and four staff members will embark on a journey to Guatemala. This year’s trip marks a significant milestone: fifteen years of partnership between LCS and Impact Ministries. From January 31 to February 8, 2026, our team will step into a legacy of service that has shaped the hearts of LCS students for over a decade.
The Mission at Hand
Working alongside Impact Ministries—an organization led by Les and Rita Peters—the LCS team will be immersed in the local community. Their week will be filled with purpose as they:
- Lead a Vacation Bible School (VBS) for local children.
- Contribute to vital work projects on-site.
- Visit local schools and churches, deepening our connection with the Guatemalan people.
- Meet sponsored children in their homes, seeing firsthand the impact of LCS’s ongoing support.
Impact Ministries is dedicated to growing godly leaders to effect spiritual change in Guatemala. They achieve this through a holistic approach: building Christian schools, planting churches, offering medical and dental care, and providing a refuge for orphaned and abandoned children.
A Call to Fervent Prayer
While the goals of the trip are clear, the spiritual goals are where we seek the greatest impact. Les and Rita Peters are deeply committed to not only serving Guatemala but also impacting North American Christians for world missions. We invite our entire school community to cover this team in prayer as they prepare to encourage God’s kingdom and grow in their own faith.
Please join us in praying for:
- Spiritual Vision: That our students would see God moving and participate wholeheartedly.
- Safety & Health: For protection during travel, peace within the country, and physical strength for the team.
- Effective Service: That their work would bear fruit and provide genuine encouragement to the staff and students of Impact Ministries.
- Divine Appointments: For meaningful connections during school and home visits.
We look forward to hearing the stories of God’s faithfulness when the team returns. To learn more about how Impact Ministries is building a brighter future for children in Guatemala and to find ways to help through sponsorship and trips, click here.
