Hearts in Motion: Grades 1-4 Support Heart & Stroke FoundationGrades 1-4 students participated in Jump Rope for Heart on March 24, 2025. The fun event, hosted by the Heart & Stroke Foundation, helps children stay physically active while raising funds to reduce the devastating effects of heart disease and stroke.
Students at LCS were invited to fundraise, and to date, they have raised $1,180 towards their goal of $1,200. Monday, March 24 was the day to take action! Our students learned jump rope tricks, played the helicopter game (jumping over a rope and being eliminated), and participated in endurance challenges.
Congratulations to the 28 students in Grades 3 and 4 who were able to get into the 4 minute club (jumping for four minutes without any mistakes)!
Grade 9 students supported the event by turning rope and helping with a variety of games (such as limbo and helicopter) for our Grade 2 students.
Thank you to Early Years Physical Education teacher Mr. Riley Bredin for organizing the event that promotes a healthy lifestyle. Donations for the Heart and Stroke Foundation can be made here.
