Hope Shared: Teen Challenge Visit Inspires Students

Grade 7 students at LCS heard from Pastor Danny McVeigh and two current residents at a dynamic Teen Challenge presentation on February 26th. McVeigh is the current Chief Program Officer at Teen Challenge and is passionate about preventing addiction by equipping youth to make wise choices today. Their “Youth in the Know” Drug Awareness program gives students accurate and powerful information about addiction, culture, and circles of influence; helping them to be cautious in regards to friendship, media, vaping, alcohol and drugs. Our students learned the difference between cultural narratives and the truth about vaping, cell phone use, marijuana, and more.

Our students heard two transformative testimonies from Teen Challenge clients. They shared their stories of addiction and deliverance/freedom through the grace and power of God.

Students participated in a thoughtful Q and A with our visitors. They learned how God is transforming lives through the important work of Teen Challenge. From detox to discipleship, and spiritual and mental health counseling to outpatient care and job training, Teen Challenge offers a different approach to addiction recovery.
