LCS Teacher Awarded for Bringing Agriculture to Life!Congratulations to Senior Years Geography and Social Studies teacher Mr. Nick Janzen. He was awarded the Agriculture in the Classroom – Educator Champion Award on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
Nick’s nomination for the 2025 AITC-Manitoba Educator Champion Award comes with resounding praise for his dynamic and engaging methods of teaching agriculture. By bringing the subject to life through classroom plants, field trips, guest speakers, and hands-on activities, he ensures his students actively experience agriculture. This approach has ignited enthusiasm and shaped future paths, and his leadership on the AITC-M Educator Steering Committee broadens his impact.
He was nominated by fellow teacher Mrs. Kathleen Hofer and LCS parent Margo Kehler for the 2025 AITC-Manitoba Educator Champion Award. Kehler’s daughters have been profoundly impacted by Nick’s teaching.
Nick’s dedication and passion also earned him a reward of $500 to support his agriculture education initiatives. Nick is passionate about helping his students gain insight into how their food is grown and teaching about sustainability.
