Technique and Nostalgia at “A Celebration of Music”Our Grades 6–8 Band and Jazz Band students took the stage for their spring concert, “A Celebration of Music” on Wednesday, April 15th.
It was a night that showcased the incredible growth of our youngest Performing Arts students. The program offered a delightful balance, transitioning from the discipline and technicality of classical pieces to the high-energy, infectious rhythms of our Grades 7-12 Jazz Bands.
The audience was treated to a trip down memory lane with spirited renditions of iconic themes like The Flintstones and Sesame Street. The energy in the room reached a high point with a rousing performance of Sweet Caroline. Our young musicians were able to demonstrate their hard work and stage presence in a fun atmosphere.
This successful evening would not have been possible without the dedication of our Middle Years Band Director, Marla Friesen. Thank you to Mrs. Friesen for her patience, expertise, and commitment to nurturing the musical gifts of our students.
If you missed this performance or are simply eager for more, the Performing Arts season is far from over. Please join us for our upcoming concerts:
- Wednesday, May 27: Senior Years Band Concert
- Wednesday, June 3: Senior Years Choral Concert
- Wednesday, June 10: Early Years Spring Concert
Congratulations to all our performers on a spectacular evening!
