Music, Legacy, and Community at Senior Years Spring Band Concert

Our final spring concert of the year was a blessing to the entire LCS community. The Senior Years Spring Band & Jazz Concert brought together talent, tributes, and cross-generational collaborations for an unforgettable evening of music.

From stirring ensemble pieces to student showcases, the evening celebrated musical excellence and the heart and spirit of Linden Christian School.

One meaningful aspect of the evening was the bridge built between the past, present, and future of our music program. The stage welcomed some very special guests:

  • The Grade 7-8 Honour Band: Giving our younger musicians a wonderful opportunity to perform at a Senior Years concert, alongside our Grade 9-12 concert bands.
  • LCS Alumni: Welcoming back former students who returned to their roots to share their talent once again, playing with our Grade 11/12 Jazz Band for “Salta”.

The concert showcased individual student achievements and creativity. The audience was treated to numerous individual student solos and also featured an original student worship composition by Wyatt S. His piece, ” Halfway Across”, displayed the faith and artistic maturity of our musicians.

The evening also honoured our departing seniors with student awards and a heartwarming graduation video, marking a bittersweet milestone for Class of 2026 band students.

Another moving highlight was the performance of “Wave of Light”. This special piece was part of a collaborative initiative between CancerCare Manitoba and the Manitoba Band Association, using the power of music to bring awareness, hope, and support to cancer care and research in Manitoba.

An evening of this magnitude requires dedication behind the scenes. We want to extend a massive Bravo to all of our Senior Years band students for their hard work and passion.

A special thank you to our Senior Years Band teacher, Bobbie Fast, whose leadership and vision guided our students throughout the year. We also extend our deepest gratitude to the Performing Arts team, our supporting staff, and the wonderful parents who championed these musicians every step of the way.

What a beautiful way to wrap up a year of music at LCS! 🙌 🎷
