Senior Years Students Partner with Family Support CentreThis Christmas season our Senior Years students will be partnering with the Family Support Centre (formerly known as The Crisis Pregnancy Center). Grade 9-12 families will receive information about items they can contribute and how they can help. Donation opportunities include formula, items for a layette, or funds for a Baby Moon gift card (enabling the mom to be to have an ultrasound). Cash donations can be made to LCS with no tax receipt and donations made directly to the Family Support Center via their website are eligible for a tax receipt. Physical donations can be dropped off in front of the Main School Office from December 3-17. A list of giving opportunities was sent home with Senior Years students and can be found outside the Main School Office.
The Family Support Centre has been serving mothers, fathers, and families in Winnipeg since 1985.The long-term support, resources, and care they provide help make continuing a pregnancy feel achievable, removing barriers that might otherwise leave a mother feeling unable to provide for her unborn baby. Partnering with the Family Support Center gives LCS families the chance to stand beside families in vulnerable moments – offering support to mothers wrestling with the reality of pregnancy, fathers adjusting to the responsibilities of parenthood, and newborns in need of essential items and basic care to ensure a healthy start in life.
