Top Provincial Scores in MathematicsThe Fryer and Galois Contests (Grades 9-11) and Euclid Contest (Grade 12) offer unique opportunities for students to enhance problem-solving and communication skills. Focused on critical thinking rather than specific curriculum content, these contests feature progressively complex tasks that encourage logical thinking and mathematical problem-solving.
The Euclid Contest, taken by over 20,000 students globally each year, challenges senior students to apply their secondary school math knowledge creatively. It includes both short-answer and comprehensive questions that encourage effective communication and perseverance in tackling advanced mathematical challenges that extend beyond standard curriculum content.
We wish to highlight some extraordinary young mathematicians at Linden Christian School.
Fryer Math Contest (Grade 9): Eight students participated from LCS, 122 total participated in the province.
Angelia M. placed 6th in our zone and 6th in the province, and received a medal for top performance in the school.
Five of our students were in the zone top 20, and 3 of those were in the provincial top 20.
