We Love Because He First Loved Us: K-6 Students Celebrate Faith and Fellowship at Friendship Chapel

Kindergarten to Grade 6 students reflected on friendship on Friday, February 6, 2026 at a special annual chapel.

The powerful theme, “We Love Because He First Loved Us” (1 John 4:19) was a reminder that our capacity to be a good friend is rooted directly in the love God has for each of us.

Our Chapel was led by a group of presenting classes, including 2J, 3C, 4P, 5FP, and 5W. Together, they moved the audience through a creative journey of what it looks like to live out friendship God’s way, in our daily life – in the hallways and at LCS recess.

The chapel featured a blend of praise and performance, including worship as a community, a skit portraying friendship in the Bible, and poetry from three of our classrooms. The poem “A Friendship Recipe.” highlighted the “ingredients” of a healthy community—patience, forgiveness, and the joy of serving others.

Thank you to Early Years Resource teacher Karen Schroeder and Vice Principal of Early Years Heather Karr for their coordination of this annual Chapel. Their leadership ensured that the chapel was an intentional teaching tool for our students and encouragement to our community.

At Linden Christian School, we believe that academic excellence and character development go hand-in-hand. Seeing our students articulate the connection between God’s love and their own relationships is a testament to the work being done in our classrooms every day.

Thank you to our students for their preparation for the morning
