Bronze at Canada Wide Science Fair for LCS StudentsBronze at the Canada Wide Science Fair. A first for LCS students!
Two Grade 12 students – Opemipo O. and Micah C. were awarded Bronze Medals at the Canada Wide Science Fair after receiving Gold, an invite to Nationals, and the highest standing (Best Overall Biological Science Project at a Senior Level) at our Provincial Fair in April. Representing Manitoba and LCS, they connected with other bright young minds tackling contemporary problems from across Canada.
As chosen delegates, Opemipo and Micah enjoyed an all expense paid trip to the National Science Fair that took place at the University of New Brunswick from May 31-June 7, 2025. Their project, titled “Nutrient Management for Microscale Hydroponic Systems” was highly regarded, earning a Bronze medal. Our Grade 12 students were also offered the following university entrance scholarships:
– $1000 University of Ottawa Entrance Scholarship
– $1000 Western University (Western Science) Scholarship
– $3000 Mount Allison University Entrance Scholarship
With only half of the top delegates from across Canada receiving medals, a Bronze standing is an outstanding accomplishment. Congratulations to Opemipo and Micah! We wish them all the best in their post-secondary endeavors!
