Linden Christian School (LCS) invites applications for the position of Before and After School Care (BASC) worker.  

The anticipated start date is as soon as possible. This is a casual position available during the school year. Anticipated hours of work are between 07:30-08:30 am and/or 3:30-5:30 pm Monday to Friday. 

Applicants available Monday through Friday after school is preferred. 

This position will suit an individual who enjoys working with children and serving others, team player, detail oriented, accurate and able to follow up, likes to plan ahead but can adapt to last minute changes, has a positive attitude, and wants to learn and grow in an environment where serving God together is rewarding and meaningful.  

The successful candidate will:  

  • give evidence of a strong commitment to Christian faith in belief and practice, and be in agreement with LCS’ Mission, Vision, and Core Value statements;

Educational Assistant for the 2024-2025 school year. LCS is a K-12 independent school with over 1000 students. The Substitute Educational Assistant (EA) is responsible to support the work of teachers and clinicians through a range of activities dependent upon specific student needs within the learning environment. EAs are valued members of the school team and make a significant contribution to the work of the school and the education of all students.

  • be able to work with a wide age range of student needs and ages;

Church Description:

Grant Memorial Baptist Church (“GMBC”), a member of the Baptist General Conference of Canada, is a vibrant, evangelical congregation averaging 1,100 in two Sunday morning services. Over 1500 adults consider GMBC their home church. GMBC is known for its emphasis on teaching the Scriptures and diverse ministry engagement opportunities. Job Summary:

The Digital Communities Assistant position provides graphic design services to all ministries of Grant Church, executing the design and layout for a wide array of print and digital media projects church-wide. As part of our collaborative design team, you will work on assigned design projects, showcasing your creativity and skills.

Time Requirements:

30 hours per week, equivalent to a full-time position (0.75 FTE).

In addition to regular office hours Monday to Thursday, availability is occasionally required on Sunday mornings and on various midweek evenings (TBD).

Responsibilities:

  • Produce graphic design work supporting the Grant Church ministry, including logo development, display, designed social content, Sunday service production assets, OOH and digital ad network campaigns, motion graphics, and other elements as they arise.
  • Ensure work complies with project technical specifications/requirements.
  • Design marketing, communications, advertising, and promotional materials for all Grant Church ministries and events to ensure consistency in brand and campaign themes while meeting the needs of all stakeholders.
  • Assist in photo shoots and execute photography as required.
  • Work closely with the Minister of Digital Communities to prioritize projects and timelines to meet deadline changes and updates.

Requirements:

  • Applicants with a degree or diploma in Graphic Design or similarly focused programs from a recognized institution will be prioritized.
  • A minimum of 2 years of practical experience in graphic design is preferred.
  • A demonstrated and comprehensive background, understanding, and experience with graphic design applications, specifically Adobe Creative Cloud suite and in particular, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom and After Effects.
  • Spatial or 3D rendering knowledge is considered an asset.
  • Experience with motion graphics is considered an asset.
  • Remains current on new developments and technologies related to graphic design and brand development.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to proofread.
  • Excellent ability to communicate with others inside and outside of the organization.
  • Ability and willingness to work event evenings and weekends as an integrated ministry team member.
  • The capacity to prioritize competing demands in a dynamic and evolving environment, independently managing deadlines and corresponding workload.

Job Summary:
The Property Manager Assistant is a dual-role position responsible for supporting the Property Manager with administrative tasks while performing light building maintenance and repairs for Grant Memorial Church and Linden Christian School. The candidate should possess good communication skills, the ability to work independently, and the ability to lead a team. They will have proven skills and experience in light building maintenance, and knowledge of WHMIS would be an asset.

Time Requirements:
This position is full-time with a 40-hour/week Monday-Friday schedule with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities:

Property Manager Support:
-Assist the Property Manager with daily administrative tasks, including managing communications with suppliers, contractors and building occupants, processing and assigning work orders, and organizing files.
– Direct the Property Team in their daily duties in the absence of the Property Manager
-Coordinate building repair projects
-Review work order requests and ensure any significant issues are forwarded to the Property Manager.
-Order and maintain supply inventories
-Conduct regular property inspections to maintain the building’s appearance and safety standards.
-Be the secondary contact for any building alarm calls or emergencies

Building Maintenance:
-Perform routine maintenance tasks, including painting, basic plumbing and carpentry.
-Respond to work order requests, ensuring prompt attention to minor repairs such as fixing leaky faucets, changing light bulbs, and unclogging drains.
-Inspect and maintain common areas, ensuring they are clean, safe, and well-functioning (e.g., foyers, hallways, parking lots).
-Monitor heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and address minor issues.
-Operate a skid steer for snow clearing of parking lots and roadways

Requirements:

-Willing to drive a skid steer for winter snow clearing; on-the-job training is available
-Physically fit and able to lift to 50-70 lbs.
-Good communication and organizational skills
-Ability to be a team player and work independently
-Prompt and dependable
-Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, MSDS, WHMIS and Workplace Safety
