Student Performances and a Light Show at “The Colour of Music”

Our band students hosted a wonderful first concert of the year on October 26, 2022. “The Colour of Music” featured our hard working Grade 7-12 students and showcased the power of music and how it can communicate more than just sound. Music has the potential to speak to each of us in a unique and powerful way.

Our students did a great job of preparing for the evening and guests enjoyed a themed light show accompanying each piece of music.

Soloists for the evening included Kiera F. (Tenor Sax), Nikolai S. (Alto Sax), Sam S. (Piano), Matt A. (Drums), Andrew W. (Alto Sax), Henry H. (Trumpet), Xiaowei Q. (Trumpet), Jeffrey E. (Alto Sax), Kieran J. (Drums), Samuel M. (Tenor Sax), and Opemipo O. (Trumpet).

Thank you to our band teachers Mrs. Bobbie Fast (Senior Years) and Mrs. Marla Friesen (Middle Years), our performing arts students, and to our tech, AV, and lighting team (Jordan Lange, James Doerksen ’13, and Luke S. ’23) for a wonderful evening. Thanks also to Sara Wolowich Brown ’14 (@wolobrown_creative), who was onsite to take photos for the evening.
