Building Bridges in Grade 7

Grade 7 students recently participated in a bridge building challenge as a part of their scientific learning about forces and structures. They worked in teams of three for one week to build bridges using only popsicle sticks and glue. Using the knowledge they had acquired about forces and structures, teams were challenged to create a bridge that could hold the largest load possible.

LCS students went to Mennonite Brethren Collegiate Institute on December 19 for a friendly bridge testing competition. It was fun to see all the great designs in action. After completing the testing, LCS students Leo L. and Benjamin J. came out on top. Their bridge supported a load of 255 pounds!
