Celebrating Student AchievementOn Friday, June 2 we celebrated student achievements at Linden Christian School. Our annual K-Grade 8 Chapel honoured students in the areas of academics, music, service and athletics.
Our Patrols were recognized for their service and Grade 8 Servant Leadership Awards were presented. Trophies and certificates were handed out to top Speech Contest Finalists and our EY and MY Choral and Band results (Winnipeg Music Festival, Junior Honour Choir, Choral Fest, Optimist Festival, Level One/Two Band) were celebrated. Our Grade 6 Choir was selected as the trophy recipient of the Anne Tate Memorial Trophy, which is awarded for the most outstanding performance by a School Chorus in Grades 4-6.
We celebrated the generosity of our community through a fundraising update on our Jump Rope for Heart initiative and honoured our Spelling Bee finalists. Students who participated and ranked in the top 25% of Math Contests (Pascal, Guass, Fryer) were presented with certificates. Three students placed 3rd out of 30 participating Manitoba schools in the Pascal Contest and LCS placed third out of 8 participating schools in the Fryer contest.
Athletic accomplishments were celebrated in the areas of cross country, volleyball, basketball, badminton and soccer. Lastly, Middle Years students who received awards at the Manitoba Schools Science Symposium were honoured at our K-Grade 8 Celebration Chapel.
It was wonderful to cheer on our hard working students and celebrate their efforts and achievements!
