Friendship Celebrated at Annual ChapelKindergarten to Grade 6 students and guests enjoyed a special Chapel celebrating friendship on Friday, February 10. Our Grade 5 choir opened the Chapel with “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” and Grade 1 students in Ms. Doerksen’s class recited a poem about friends from around the world. The ABC’s of friendship were reinforced by Mrs. Hoi’s Grade 3s and Mrs. Hofer’s Grade 4 students reinforced biblical friendship in their classroom presentation.
It was wonderful to sing songs that expressed and celebrated God’s friendship with us. The worship team led guests through “I am a Friend of God”, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, and “He is Light”.
Mrs. deVries’ students shared a powerpoint entitled “What is Friendship?” and presented their thoughts on how to be the kind of friend God calls us to be.
Mrs. Laldin’s Grade 6 class closed the chapel with a skit highlighting how to conquer selfishness and pride through displaying Christ’s attributes of humility, truthfulness, generosity, patience, peace and love.
