Middle Years Choral Concert – What a Wonderful World!

Every spring we celebrate the dedication of our performing arts students through a series of concerts. On Wednesday, May 17 our Middle Years choirs and ensembles had the opportunity to shine at their Spring Choral Concert – What a Wonderful World.

Principal Bryan Schroeder opened up the evening with scripture and prayer and guests then heard from our Grade 5 and 6 Choirs. Song selection was focused on celebrating our world and God’s creation. My Hope is Built on Nothing Less, What a Wonderful World, and Wade in the Water were performed by our Grade 5 and 6 students.

Offering for the evening was directed to the Middle Years Performing Arts Program. Guests were treated to a special performance from one of our Senior Years Ensembles during offertory.

Grade 7 and 8 Honour Choirs performed The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Come, Let Us Sing, and Jazzy Rhythm of Life. A variety of numbers from our Grade 7 and 8 choirs followed, including: Swing Low!, The Battle of Jericho, and Praise the Lord.

Vice Principal Mr. Jeff Thiessen closed out the evening and Middle Years Choral teacher Mrs. Janna Reid was presented with a bouquet in thanks for her teaching and preparation of our Middle Years students.

Thank you to our parents and families for supporting our young people in their pursuit of musical excellence.

Thanks also to our accompanist Mrs. Lynelle Theissen, our technical support team, supervising staff, LCS Administration and the property department.
