Spirit of Giving at Christmas Chapel

Students, staff, parents, grandparents and alumni gathered for our K-12 Christmas Chapel on December 21, 2022. Three years have passed since we have been able to host our annual chapel at full capacity.

The hallways were buzzing as family members arrived, enjoying jazz and carols from our choral and band students in the morning.

Chapel began with a welcome from Head of School / CEO Robert Charach. An update on recent outreach projects followed festive carol singing. Our K-4 students participated in Operation Christmas Child again this year, packing 116 boxes and donating $427.00 towards the Samaritan’s Purse initiative. Grade 2 students brought in 64 pairs of mittens for the United Way/Koats for Kids. Our Middle Years students were challenged to give from their own resources towards the World Vision Gift Catalogue. This year they raised $8960.25. Senior Years students brought in 500 pounds of food for Harvest Manitoba. These gifts will help many Winnipeg families during a time when grocery prices are soaring and donations are limited.

It is an LCS tradition to watch some of the Charlie Brown Christmas video together. What a joy to focus our attention on the true meaning of Christmas.

Kindergarten and Grade 1 students helped set the mood with jingle bells for more carol singing, and our guests gathered for a time of food and fellowship in the South Hall.
