Guests to the LCS Senior Years Spring Band Concert on May 29, 2024 were impressed with our Grade 9-12 choral performances. They enjoyed original student compositions and heard from student conductors as well! Concert and jazz bands were highlighted and a fabulous mass jazz band closed out the evening. The concert featured many student soloists, including:

Two of our Grade 12 students, Heidi R ‘ 24 and Xiaowei Q ‘ 24 had the opportunity to conduct our Grade 11-12 Concert Band. The R.C.M.P Regimental March (arr. by Darrin Oehlerking) was conducted by Xiaowei and Falling Stars was written and conducted by Heidi.

Heidi R’s original composition Waltz of the Sea was performed during offertory. The Grade 12 performing arts student recently received an honourable mention for the composition in the CMMTA Canada Music Week Student Composer Competition.

Our Grade 11-12 Jazz Band performed Cuba, another student composition. Samuel MC ’24 composed the number and was featured on Tenor Sax.

Ensembles performed and guests enjoyed Student and Grade 12 Tribute Videos by graduating students Wesley C ’24 and Xiaowei Q ’24.
