Team Canada Chess Championship for Grade 2 StudentAiden L. in Ms. Slama’s Grade 2 class has been playing chess since he was six years old. He recently received invitations to represent Team Manitoba in the 34th Annual Canadian Chess Challenge in Montreal this May and the Canadian Youth Chess Championship 2023 in Calgary in July. Aiden’s family was also informed by the Youth Coordinator of the Chess Federation of Canada that Aiden has been invited to play in the 2023 Pan-American Team Chess Championships as a member of Team Canada.
Aiden is currently ranked #4 in Canada in Grade 2 from the Chess’n Math Association. He won both the 2022 and 2023 Manitoba Provincial Chess Championships and is looking forward to competing against peers from across the country.
